I just installed a use bh 90 that's 8 months old my tank and the collection cup overflows in about a min. In the open and close position and everything in between. What could be wrong. I saw this unit in working condition but no that it's on my tank it's not functioning properly . Do I need to break it in even though it came off a unit about a month ago? And if I do do I run the tube line from the collection cup back into my take or in the the pipe thst says open and close on the left hand side.

Are you adding any type of chemicals to the tank? Things such as Algaecides, red slime remover, bacterial startups, medication or water conditioner and/or dechlorinator for water changes?

Yes, the skimmer will take at least 3 weeks to break in. Raise the collection cup as far as you can so the skimmer does not overflow.
