The skimmer can be submerged but it was not intended to be used that way. While you can do it, we cannot guarantee that the skimmer will perform as advertised as you are using it in a way that it was not intended to be used.

Ok I just bought it after speaking with a tech from marineandreef.com. He assured me it would work fine.
