I just purchased a LX2000 skimmer for my new 120 gallon salt water aquarium. This is my first tank but I believe I have been very thorough in my setup, however I can not get this skimmer to work without the collection cup filling up with bubbles and water. I only see adjustment for water inlet via the plastic slide and I have my collection cup as high as it will go. Please help

Thanks,
Randy

Thank you for submitting your question. How old is your tank? Are you adding any type of chemicals such as bacterial startup, red slime remover, algaecide, water conditioner, dechlorinator?

Let me know,

My tank is brand new. Water has only been in tank for four days from RODIN system with correct salt levels. I did pour in one bottle of instant ocean bio-Spira.

That bio-spira is what is making the skimmer overflow. You will need to allow the system and the skimmer to break in. If you are using live rock, then you probably do not need the bacterial startup. You just need to allow the system some time for the bacteria to catch up. Once you stop using the bacterial startup, then the skimmer will stop overflowing after a few days.

Ok. I will just wait a while to let tank cycle and then try again. Thanks
