I'm sorry you feel that way. The problem you have with the connector that has broken on the driver board is not something I have ever seen before and it is definitely not a design flaw in the manufacturing or a common problem. It took some kind of force to break that piece off. It should not be any problem at all for the piece to be resoldered for someone with the right tools and experience, but you stated you are not comfortable doing so so I gave you the other option to replace the part.
As with any brand new product, the Gyres did have some kinks to iron out once on the market and they have made several modifications to greatly improve the product since it's release. We offer fantastic product support so hopefully you took advantage of that at the time so we could help you resolve whatever issue you were having with your Gyre.
