I bought this skimmer used from a friend, and after about 2 weeks of running the pump has failed. I assume it is the pump as the controller is responding and working normally. The date on the pump is 2013 so I am pretty sure the warranty is out.
My question is about the correct replacement pump. It came with a DC 5500s, and most forums mention the rodc 3500s, but that doesn't seem to be for sale any more. Do I need to purchase a varioS-4S or do I have any other options?

Thanks, it actually started working after taking it out and leaving it unplugged overnight, but I'll put away some money for a varios for when it inevitablly dies.

I'm about to order a varios pump, is the 40mm adapter for my skimmer the same as the one screwed onto my dc5500s pump? I have that adapter and just need to know if the threads are the same on the varios.

No, it will be different but the adapter for the DCS-200INT is included with the VarioS pump. You don't have to worry about it. Just select the right adapter when adding the pump to the cart and you are all set.
