I'm hoping you can better explain the AFS Technology? From the manual i found online, this does have an overfill shut off...i assume that if the pump runs for more than 15 seconds, it will shut off and sound an alarm? the descriptions are rather poor in the manual and i was hoping for a more thorough explanation.

Thank you

The unit remembers you last fill. If the current fill is more than 3 minutes longer than your last fill, it will automatically shut off the pump.

Is there an alarm or safety stop if the pump continues to run?

That is the safety stop. The controller will autofill until water reaches the predetermined level. If the controller senses that the current fill is 3+ minutes longer than the previous fill, it will automatically shut off the pump regardless of water level and will sound an alarm letting you know that there is something wrong.

If the controller has a air bubble trapped in between the magent, it will sound an alarm. If the controller has algae growth that prevents the optics from working correctly, it will sound an alarm. if the controller senses that the pump has been running dry, it will sound an alarm.
