Problem with Smart ATO

I have an issue with my Smart ATO system. When I power up the controller the RED indicator light blinks fast and there is a loud audible sound. The instructions that came with the Smart ATO say to un-plug the pump and plug it in again into the controller. Then reset controller by power cycling the unit. I have tried several times but it has not helped. Do you think there is an issue with the pump or controller? I ordered it from aquacave.com back on April 28, 2014 (see attached file). Hope we can get this resolve soon.
