I have read that 1 1/4" PVC is close enough for 40mm outlet and 1/2 will work for inlet... true? This unit was used in sump prior to my ownership and he did not use the parts i am looking for nor did he cement any parts together... for external use must i cement all parts together if they are original METRIC and/or Replacement BRITISH sizes?
