I purchased my gyre 12/2014. I understand that the warranty is only one year. But I just noticed on the last cleaning that the wire is frayed going into the back of the motor. Is this something that can be addressed even though it is outside of the warranty date? Or am I to start looking into another wave maker?

Your gyre is out of warranty already but go ahead and start a private ticket and one of the reps will provide you with options.
