I recently got an eshopps sump. The water level in the skimmer compartment is 10" which I know is too high. I ordered a skimmer stand but that will not arrive for another week or so. For the time being I stacked up some egg crate and out the skimmer on that. This brought the water level to the skimmer down to 6". With my rigged stand the skimmer is not 100% level, so I don't know if that's a problem. The issue I am having is that the skimmer cannot be adjusted. I either get too much flow or not enough. I cannot get it to work. I assume it's because of the water level. The real issue is that I do not have any room to raise the skimmer. It is already hitting the bottom of my tank. Can anyone suggest anything?

Summary: water level might be too high. Skimmer is raised but not completely level for now. No room to raise it more. Skimmer does not work. 6" water level.

You need to bring the skimmer up. If the water level in the skimmer is too high, then it is not going to work correctly. No real way of bypassing that.

The issue is that I can't raise it anymore. There is no room over it and the sump is at it's minimum water level.
