That is a question for Tunze. The battery is just that, a battery. It is the pump's controller that determines if the pump is running on battery or regular power and if programmed correctly, will slow down the pump to make the battery backup last.

The battery backup comes with several connectors but I cannot tell you if the Tunze uses one of them. They are standard adapters that can also be purchased on Amazon. It is not a proprietary adapter.
