Why are they shipping the Gyres in metal cases? I have heard some are claiming that it is because of fear of the magnet breaking something in transport.

The magnets are super strong and powerful so they need to be boxed in metal boxes so that there are no issues during shipping. It has nothing to do with breakage and everything to do with rules for shipping strong magnets.

The proper way of shipping strong magnets is to encase them in a metal box. It shields outside objects from the magnetic field the magnets can create. We can only speak on our product and cannot speculate on why or why not other companies ship their products differently.

It also looks better and it is stronger and prevents the contents from damaging due to shipping mishandling.
