SRO xp2000 skimmer

I took my skimmer out to clean after about a year of service. I removed a thumbscrew that holds a 2 piece plate with a lot of holes in it. I didn't pay close attention when I removed it. One side is flat and one side the holes are beveled. Which side goes up??
