Some time ago, I acquired a "Super Reef Octopus rp-ps-3000 int".
Then, for personal reasons, I had to disassemble the aquarium. Eight months later I reconnect my skimmer to a new aquarium and the pump is dead.
The rotor does not rotate and the interior smells like that a part is rusted.
Can you tell me if this has a solution or refer me to any technical service?...

Thanks

Are you able to remove the impeller from the pump and check the status of the impeller? If there is nothing wrong with the impeller and it is just calcium buildup around it, you take the pump apart and soak it's components in a water/vinegar solution for 24 hrs. This will dissolve all calcium buildup and free the impeller. Then try it again.

If the impeller is broken or damaged, then you will need to replace the impeller.

Here is the link to the impeller page in our website... http://www.coralvue.com/bubble-blaster-pump-pinwheel-impeller

You will need the serial number on the back of the pump in order to purchase the replacement.

Than you very much for the reply,
I can´t remove the impeller from the pump. Should I soak the whole pump in the solution?

which is the concentration of vinegar for this solution?

On a 5 gal bucket, add enough water so that the entire pump is submerged. Then add about 1/2 cup of vinegar and mix. Let it sit for 24 hrs. Let me know if that allows you to remove the impeller.

Thank you Carlos for your concern.
I left the pump submerged in vinegar 24 hours but still can not get the magnet and the impeller shaft out of the pump. Unfortunately, I can not send you a photo by this medium.
Is it common this kind of problem?
I hope I can solve it

If you cannot get the impeller off the pump, then you will need to send the pump in for repair. Please submit a ticket and fill out as much information as possible. The ticket must include the pump's model number, the serial number and you must attach proof of purchase.

Once I receive that information, we can start the warranty process.

Don't attach the information here as this is a public forum.
