I'm being told I can use replacement pump Aquatrance 1000s. However that pump has lower GPH then the NW 1000 GT. Will the Aquatrance make a difference?

Yes, the Aquatrance pump is far more efficient at injecting air into the water and producing better foam. It does not need to push as much water to create the same amount of foam.

Hi Carlos, Thanks for getting back to me so quickly! . The reason I'm asking is for some reason all of a sudden the skimmer is not foaming. All I get is the micro bubbles. I took everything apart and tried to clean the pump in water / vinegar mix but no help. I even replaced the impeller again no help. The skimmer is several years old so am I correct in assuming it's a pump issue?

if there are no bubbles, then please make sure that the pumps outtake is not blocking. Also make sure that the air hose is properly connected to the venturi fitting.
Did you try running the skimmer pump in a 5 gal of salt water with the air hose connected? If the pump foams up, then you know the issue is somewhere in the connecting pipes.

Not sure, you will need to take the skimmer apart and make sure that nothing is blocking the pipes.
