Hi,

So I have a older NWB-110 with the OTP-1000 pump and i'm not that happy with the skim results on my system. I received this from a friend with about 1 year use on it. I've had it for about another 9 or so months running.

So my questions is what kind of performance gain would I see upgrading the pump to the aquatrance on the current model NWB-110 or buying the new classic NWB-110 with the newer design. I know that the new classic runs the same pump in question, but is the design more improved for better skim production?

Thanks,

Donnie

Donnie,

If you want an upgrade, then I would recommend going with a Bubble Blaster pump instead. It is twice the price of an Aquatrance but it draws more water and air. It will mean a significant upgrade to your current skimmer.

The Bubble Blaster draws 150GPH while the AQ draws 92GPH
The Bubble Blaster draws 540 L/H of air while the AQ draws 420 L/H.

Since you have the NWB-110, you would not need to purchase any adapter parts. It will fit right out of the box.

By going the Bubble Blaster route, you would gain a substantial upgrade on your current skimmer without having to purchase an entire skimmer.

BTW, the pump also comes with a 3-year warranty!

Hope this helps!
