Hi

I'm looking at adding the OR150 to my aquarium but have a couple of questions that I'd like to address first:

1. It will be located under the tank in the cabinet at the same level as my sump. Because the water outlet of the reactor needs to be higher than the water level in the sump, can I attach a hose "lifting" it above the water level of the sump and into a filter sock filled with carbon?

2. The height of the reactor will mean a tight fit in the cabinet. Other than invalidating the warranty, are there any other reasons why I cannot cut a small section out of the degassing chamber ( two inches or so ) and stick it back together?

Appreciate your help

Robert

To clarify, I meant attach a hose from the water outlet of the reactor "lifting" the water to above the water level of the sump ...

Sorry you will not be able to re route the water by using a hose. The reactor drains by gravity so the output needs to be above or only several inches below the water surface. The use of the hose would cause the water within the reactor to be at the same height as the highest point of the hose.

You can't cut the size of the reactor down without causing issues. The reactor was built to minimum height spec for it to filter O3 properly and without the buildup of pressure. You need to retain a certain amount of water within the reactor at all times to force the O3 to naturally go out of the side filter. If you must cut the unit it would need to be shortened towards the top of the unit above the side output to the carbon filter.

Thanks Jeremy, appreciate your help but unfortunately I'll need to look at other options at the moment until my new house is finished being built. Probably feed it into the skimmer until such time.

I understand. I am working on a new type of lid for the skimmers to filter O3 which we hope to have available this fall.

Hi,

I am having a problem keeping the water level inside the reactor stable. The water just keep going up and down no matter how I adjudge the control valve. I have the reactor roughly 8" above the sump and it drain in carbon bag. Please advice.

Thanks

Sounds like the side filter is becoming clogged. If you disconnect the line to the side filter does the water level in the reactor go up?

This is a brand new one I just setup couple days ago and I can see water coming out of the side outlet to the side filter if I turn water inside the reactor above it. So obviously no clogging here.

The water level within the reactor should stay below the side outlet. The side filter should Drain any moisture that builds but gas is intended to escape the top of the filter. If the carbon media gets clogged due to water condensation then it may need to dry out or be changed. I do not suggest the use of the little carbon pads.

Thanks Jeremy for the suggestion. I did take out the all of the rounded catalyst carbon pad and still the water level inside the reactor still keep raising up and down. One question, what is the crew and the pin attaching to the water outlet controller do?

Thanks

I believe you are referring to the plug which can be removed and replaced with an ORP probe to read the ORP level exiting the reactor. This should really only be used as a second ORP reading isolated to the reactors performance and maintenance.
