how to connect my ice cap module to the y connector

You are trying to connect two things that are not compatible. One is the power jack and it is connected to the power supply brick and the other is a 3.5mm earphone jack which is connected to the side of the module.

thanks for the fast reply, I thought with the ice cap module I don't need the power brick that came with the gyre pump. the Y connector connect to the gyre pump. the other connector to the side of the ice cap module and this last connector to the power brick of the gyre pump?...

No, you still need to connect the gyre pump to the power supply. The IceCap module replaces the Gyre's native controller only.

Correct the other end of the y cable is not used unless you have another 0-10V controllable product. Each 0-10V port on the Apex is capable of controlling 2 products.
