Hang on skimmer

I have the external hang in back skimmer and the electric cord on the pump broke off in the water and apparrently shocked the tank and all the fish died??
I am very upset and obviously need the pump part of the skimmer replaced. What do I do?

I have the same problem the pump on my BH 2000 hob skimmer. I was using the skimmer in sump the cord became brittle and cracked shorting out the pump fortunately it tripped the GFI and I didn't lose any fish Coral or get electrocuted.
