Hello,

I bought a reef octopus bh 1000 and the pump stopped working after about three months. It still moves a little bit of water, but no bubbles. What is the process to get a new one?

Have you taken the pump apart and inspected the impeller? Check it and see if there are any signs of scratches or cracks. You may only need a new impeller if that is the case.

I took it apart and cleaned it, but I didn't notice anything wrong with the impeller when I had it apart.

What is your tank's salinity? How old is your tank?

The salinity is 1.021 and its about 4 or 5 months old. The pump worked before and then it just quit. If I can't get a replacement in a reasonable time, I will just pay for a new one - I was just hoping it might be an easy process. Is it the Aquatrance 1000 s?

Thanks anyway,

but its just not worth the trouble of getting a copy of the receipt from BRS and I need it for my tank right away. Is it an aquatrance 1000s?

David,

You have the BH-1000 that came with an OTP 1000 pump. The new BH-1000 come with the Aquatrance 1000S pump but those skimmers are not in stock yet.

You can purchase a replacement OTP-1000 by using this link:
