CO2 filter attachment pre-silencer for SRO_EXT 6000

What is the best way to adapt the air intake silencer to accept a flexible pipe from a CO2 filter?

Is there an adapter / part already made to take the metric fitting to a hose barb or similar?

(My tank has a slightly low pH and scrubbing some of the CO2 out of the air as it inputs the skimmer will raise the pH nicely)

It all depends on the size of the CO2 reactor. You would have to find an adapter (we do not sell them) to attach the air intake hose to the reactor. Please know that when you reduce the intake of air into the skimmer, it will affect the performance of the skimmer and may need to be tweaked and retuned. It may also render the skimmer inoperable if the air intake is obstructed to the point where the skimmer cannot pull sufficient air for it to work.

Thank you for the swift response.

Understand the restriction issues.

I am connecting it to a BRS air filter which has 1/4" NPT female thread. (I've thrown out the ridiculously small 1/16" air line that it came with)

I currently have it plumbed directly into a hose barb that fits the flexible pipe directly off the pump.

Thank you for confirming that there is no fitting made for the job.

I will probably get a second filter media holder and T off the silencer to be sure that the restrictions are not too high. It's working OK with the direct connect but it's not a good long term solution as I want to go into the top of the silencer.

Thanks again.

I know BRS sells an adapter that allows the skimmer air intake to connect to a Two Little Fishies PhosBan reactor. I think it goes from 1/2 to 1/8 but not sure. You may want to look into that and see if it works for you.

I got one of those but it's too restrictive in my mind.

It still restricts down to the 3/16" size of the nipple it comes with. (I was incorrect in my sizing above)

I know that BRS also sells a Biopellet reactor (made from RODI filter chamber) that has 1/2" intakes. You can also use that as a media holder. You may be able to connect directly to that instead of having to reduce the air intake hose.

I just checked and the airline tube does fit perfectly into a 1/2" quick disconnect adapter which is what BRS Reactors come with.
