Skimmer is loud

I have a Octopus BH 1000 HOB skimmer and it was running super silent and everything was fine. I bought a bigger in sump pump for my tank and put my 1000 into a new tank that i just started but suddenly its really really loud....what gives?

It's more of a gurgling sound but ive already primed the pump.... what can i do to make it go back to being quiet again?

If you are getting a gurgling sound, that means most likely the prime did not take. Make sure that all the seals and o-rings are placed correctly and that no air is getting into the skimmer during the prime process. Sometimes just moving the intake piece an inch or so to straighten it up breaks the seal and allows air into the plumbing preventing a full prime.

Thanks Carlos! I ended up taking it back to the store and they disassembled it and found a small shell lodged in the pump. We took it out and now it's as quiet and serene as it was the day i opened the box!
