I have 2 Gyre 230s on my tank. They have been running now for about 6 months. I find that they tend to dart to make a little whining noise about every 2-3 weeks and then I know to takes them off, take them apart and clean them. the online videos make this a fairly easy thing to do.
How do you know when the bushings need to be replaced? Is there a recommended timeframe for this, say 6-8 months ?
Is there any wear and tear on the existing bushings that I can look for and see to let me know that the bushings need to be replaced?

The only time you need to replace the bushings is if they are stripped on the inside. Otherwise, they should be fine. You to have to make sure that the pump is clean as calcium buildup will cause the pump to be noisy as well as not perform as well as it could.
