I have recently started my tank back up, but I can't tell if I'm missing pieces (aside from the pump) for the skimmer. Can I email pictures of the skimmer so I can obtain all needed parts?

I know there is a plug that goes up at the top as well I don't seem to have anymore and where the pump goes I'm not sure if there is supposed to be an o ring or Sowmthing

I will have to check with the parts department on the drain plug and the silencer. The pumps output just slips into the side of the skimmer body. Here is a link to the replacement pump. http://www.coralvue.com/otp-200-skimmer-pump

If I purchase the pump, can I just hook airline hose to drain plug and drain into a bottle?

Yes, you can drain the hose to a bottle. Just make sure that you have a fail safe so that if it overflows it doesn't do so on your floor. We do not have the silencers or drain plugs available at this time. The skimmer can run without the silencer as long as you pull the airline through the bracket at the top.

I ended up just buying a new one. Made more sense since the pump is half the price of new, I'll at least have spare parts

Sounds good. That is why we normally dont keep the small parts for the skimmer.

I can't seem to get the adjustments right in the new skimmer. Any helpful hints? The reservoir is filling with water quickly even though I've set it to bellow the neck

Sounds like something is in your water that is reacting with something in the water itself bonding to the air surface. There is many items that are used in the hobby that causes a change in surface tension. Here is a list of some of the more popular causes and should try to restrict the use: Dechlorinator, stresscoat, frag putty, glues, medications, redslime remover, bacterial additives, New filtersocks, cycling aquariums etc. Running fresh activated carbon and small water changes with RODI water and salt that has been mixed for no less that 6 hours before use.

Here is an article on more items that may be at play. if the valve is all the way open and the collection cup fills then there is a huge DOC count our chemical at play. The skimmer is attempting to remove something form the water.
