I am having an issue trying to use the battery backup with the apex. I have two gyres on opposite ends and i use the apex to turn 1 off and the other on every 6 hours. I am running into a problem now that i have a battery backup. When one turns off the battery backup turns on. Do i have them hooked up wrong or is there something else i need to make them work only when the power goes off to my entire system? I am not good with this stuff so any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Yes, unfortunately there is no way around it if you are using the native controller. If you are using the Gyre Interface Module, you would be able to reduce the speed of the pump to 0 instead of killing the power and making the battery think that power is out.
