Hi, my HOB skimmer BH-100 that I've had for about a year stopped creating foam last night. The pump is still on and working, it's just not pushing water through with enough strength. The water is barely making its way over the plastic segment for the compartment with the return pipe. I took the pipes off and looked inside the pump holes but there appears to be nothing clogging it. It was acting odd the last few days before this happened. The last compartment came close to overflowing several times and I disconnected the skimmer. When I plugged it back in it seemed to struggle for several minutes before water started flowing through it enough to create foam. It's been on about half a day now without creating any foam and I checked but nothing seems to be clogging the propeller.
Any suggestions?

Have you tried taking the pump apart and soaking it in water/vinegar for 12-24 hrs? Try that and let me know if the problem persists after cleaning the pump.

Yes, actually I was in the process of doing that while I posted the question. I assembled it and put it back on the tank and now it's working properly again.
Thanks

Also, out of curiosity, what might have cost blockage to the pump? I didn't notice anything actually blocking it and after I soaked it in vinegar there was not much in the way of debris or gunk that came out.

Most of the times, it is a calcium build up around the impeller's magnet or the impeller's channel that makes it harder for the impeller to freely spin. There would not be any residue in the bucket as the water/vinegar solution dissolve it.
It is recommend that you do that to your pumps at least 2x a year for optimal performance.
