Have had the skimmer for 6 months now and has been working perfect. It's in about 7 inches of water where the outlet is above the water line. I have taken it apart and cleaned all the parts also.i have the Gate valve all the way open it keeps overflowing. I cant get the water level in the cone to lower at all. Anyone have this issue.

If your skimmer has been working fine for months and all of a sudden it starts to overflow then it means something has changed in your water that is making the pump inject more air than usual. Are you using any type of medication or new food? Red slime remover or algaecide? Water conditioner or dechlorinator? New source of RO water?

Everything is the exact same. No meds same ro water. With the gate valve all the way open it's still pouting out oh the cup. After looking online I've seen people put a gate valve on the line to the silencer.

Are you running carbon? We do not recommend using a gate valve on the air hose as you are chocking the skimmer. That is old school which has been provide time and time again not to work. You are asking the skimmer to produce as much dry foam as possible but you are restricting the air intake. Both things are opposites.

Please try running activated carbon as something got in the water that is causing the issue. Especially when you stated that the skimmer was working fine for months and all of a sudden it started to overflow.

Please be sure to run fresh carbon and open up the skimmers valve all the way. Allow for a few days and the skimmer will go back to normal as the carbon removes whatever is in the water that is causing the skimmer to overflow.

When I let it run and overflow it makes the tank a hot mess. From research online I have found a lot of people run into this problem with these skimmers :(
