My 250-sss is turning on and off without any influence by me. I can run it on the 1 or 2 setting without it doing this but if I set it on 3-5 it will turn on for approx. 30 seconds (never the same amount of time) and then turn off. Approx. 1-2 min later will turn back on. Again no outside influence. It’s been disconnected from the Apex for about 3 months.

Have you taken the pump apart and gave it a good cleaning and soaking in water/vinegar solution?
