RO-PS-3000Int

Hi, I have an RO-PS-3000Int skimmer, and I was wondering what the best sump water level is to run this skimmer at. According to Reef Octopus website, the PDF recommends 9 inches of water. But from I am pulling up on the internet, other stores say 6-6.5 inches. Which is correct? Please help.
