I have a Octopus XP1000sss which has always worked fine. I changed my sock today and the skimmer cup, and now it keeps blowing air into the sump and the inside of the skimmer doesn't look like it normally did. It's not producing foam either. It looks more like boiling water.

I have blown into the line, checked for obstructions, plugged where the air comes from and it won't go back to normal.

Do you know what is wrong?

If it looks like boiling water, then something is obstructing the air intake. Please take the skimmer apart and make sure that there is no salt creep in the air intake hose. Make sure that nothing else is obstructing the air intake in the pump's volute.

Please keep us posted.

Didn't work..... I checked the air hose and it's fine. I took pump apart and cleaned pinwheel. I plugged in and pinwheel spins. Cleaned everything else I could possibly clean.

The air seems to be coming out the bottom of the valve with the red handle.

What can I try next?

It seems to have fixed itself overnight...........
