just hooked up new nwb sss 150 in sink with 7" -7.5 " depth per coralvue recommendation( not instruction booklet. i am only getting large bubbles through front part of skimmer plate (see attached). I have adjusted wedge pipe but doesnt appear pump is diffusing correctly. Also silencer is not very silent loud gurgling nosie. Please advise??
Make sure that the air intake hose is pushed all the way into the wedge valve so that it is not covered the the water. You can always test it by freeing up the hose and making sure that the end is above the water level.

Also, is the skimmer running on salt water? Looks like a tub and may be fresh water... If so, skimmers do not work on fresh water. Fresh water cannot intake air as salt water does.

the air hose is connected to the bottom of the silencer stem(i ran it connected to the stem and unconnected above water level both produced same air output and noise)
what is correct method??
the instruction booklet shows a 2 port silencer this has just one.

The skimmer will not work in fresh water. Skimmers are made to be used in salt water only.

Yes, the air hose has to be above water level. As long as it is, it is ok. If the water level goes above the end of the hose, the skimmer will not work properly.
