ICV6 won't connect

I cannot get the ICV6 controller to connect to the app. I just purchased the light and controller combo 9/15/17. Once out of 10 tries it connects and says it needs to update firmware to 1.6 then it times out and have to try all over again. I brought it to where I bought it and they tried and had the same outcome. We tried multiple phones. I went to Maxspect website to try and download the 1.6 firmware but it isn't there, only 1.5. Is there a way can manually update firmware and try to connect to the app? My local fish store didnt have any more in stock so i couldnt exchange it. Thank you.

Additionally the USB power supply makes a high pitch squealing sound and every time the lights flash on the ICV6 the pitch changes with the pulsing of the lights.

Most likely you will need to hard reset the actual ethereal fixture (not the ICV6).

To reset the Ethereal, just disconnect power, press and hold the control dial then reconnect power. Once the power has been resumed while the control dial is pressed, you can see the RGB light flashing red and green, then let go of the control dial, then press and hold it for 5 seconds, the Ethereal is now reset.

How does the actual light have anything to do with the ICV6 not connecting? Instead of a pulsing Wi-Fi signal all it does is flash. I did hard reset the light, it didn't do anything but reset the light.
