I am considering a small scrubber for my reef, and planning to use the overflow outlet to supply water coming into the unit. When it is time to harvest algae, is there a bypass to allow the water to flow thru the unit so I don't have to turn off the return pump?

The tank is 22 years old, heavily stocked with LPS and softies, and skimmed by a Super Reef Octopus XP-1000 Space Saver Protein Skimmer that was purchased in 2013.
