K1-50 noise

I just got a new K1-50 for my tank. So far I am loving what this skimmer is pulling out. But there is one problem. This thing is way noisy. The silencer on the air line sounds like wind blowing Through a cracked open window. This thing is loud. I don’t know what can be done to quiet it down other then maybe make a homemade silencer. Please let me know if there is something I can do.
