I have a used skimmer and it makes loud noises. I have just disassembled it and done a maintenance but it did not help.
When blocking the air intake hole, it became much quieter. Not sure this issue is related to air or pump? Does it require an additional silencer for the air intake? People claim it is a very quiet skimmer. I just like to quiet it down. Any tips?

The skimmers only require one silencer. I would suggest taking the pump apart and giving it a good cleaning. If the skimmer is used, then it may need a new pump.

To what level, the pump can be taken apart for cleaning? For example, should I remove the pin wheel? Should the components have a vinegar bath? Do you have a video clip for pump cleaning? Thanks.

In order to clean the pump properly, you will need to take it apart and pull out the impeller. Otherwise, you are not really cleaning it. All components should be soaked in water/vinegar solution.
