I have a PS-OCT-SRO-1000IN skimmer & can't get it to stop overflowing out of the collection cup, have tried turning the valve all the way, both ways, it still just foams over all the time. Can't get any skim mate out of it, due to it foaming so much. The cup fills up with water, which makes it foam over??

Thanks

How deep are you running that skimmer? Please provide the actual measurement, in inches, from the bottom where the skimmer sits to the water surface line outside the skimmer.

Also, are you adding any type of chemicals or additives to the water? Bacteria start ups, water conditioners prior to water changes, algaecide?

Regards,

Carlos

The skimmer is setting 7" from the bottom to the water line.
No, not adding any chemicals?

You are running the skimmer too deep and that is why it is overflowing. The skimmer does not have enough space at the top to allow the water and the air to mix properly before reaching the top of the collection cup.

You need to raise the skimmer so that it is only in 5.5-5.75" of water.

OK, I raised it up. Probably have to give it a few hrs to see what happens, but the cup stopped filling up.
So that must have been it.

Thanks

Yes give it a day or two to adjust then as long as you have been running it for longer than 4 weeks you can begin to dial it in by closing the gate valve till you are able to obtain pea size bubbles and larger forming where the collection cup attaches to the skimmer body.
