Razor R420R 180 watt got wet

I have two of these units and unfortunately one fell partially into the aquarium, a 150 gallon. One of the LED clusters got wet as well as the LED display and whatever is immediately behind it. I unplugged the unit as soon as this happened but something definitely got damaged. After a thorough drying and cleaning I put it back together and plugged it in to assess the damage. The LED display is dead and the LED clusters alternate between the blues and the whites at a fast pace. Going by my description of how it’s acting and what got wet I’m hoping you can tell me what needs replacing. Thanks for your help. -Dan

It is hard to tell you exactly what you need without seeing the razor and testing it. Most likely you will need a new display, a new control board as that is directly behind the display, and then you will need new led pads.
Your best and most cost effective solution would be to send it in to us for repair which would be $120.00 and that includes all parts and shipping. To purchase the parts and repair it yourself will cost more than that. Let me know if you would like to send it in...if not I can send you a parts list with prices.

Sending it in sounds reasonable. Please give me instructions to do so.
Thanks,

Please ship the Razor to us in proper packing material. Write on the exterior of the package: RA# 9035

CoralVue
Attn: Repairs RA# 9035

Please include a note with the following info:

* A note stating the problem with the product
* Your name
* Return address
* Phone number
* Email address
* Your RA #

We are out of LED pads at the moment and won't be getting them in until May 10th. I hope that is okay. We will try and fix it and see if the leds still work with a new control board, if not then it will have to wait until we get them in.

Hello, I hooked up the repaired Razor on Saturday and there seems to be a problem with the display module I’m assuming. When I turn the knob counter clockwise it’s fine but when turned clockwise it turns but it doesn’t change the numbers on the display. So I’m unable to set the clock and use the ramp up feature. I have it in manual mode and I’m using the switch on the power supply for on and off. Please advise.

Thanks,
Danton

Please pull the knob off to see if it's stripped. Try to use by just turning the shaft. Let me know how you make out.

Ok I pulled off the knob and turned the shaft and it’s still not working properly. But let me make a correction to the problem. It appears that no matter which direction I turn the knob the numbers on the display go down. So whether I’m turning clockwise or counter clockwise I can only go negative. Thanks.

Unfortunately we will need you to send the Razor back, must have been damaged during shipping.

Please do not close this ticket as I still have to resend my unit in. My corals did poorly while my unit was being repaired and I was only using one fixture. I’m trying to get my corals back on par before I send it back in.

Thanks.
