hi i just bought a deablo xs250 with flow open all the way it overflows i have to open plug to even have it where its not shooting to the roof of cabinet tx for any help

Are you using any type of chemical additive in your tank? Such as bacterial start up, algaecide, red slime remover, water conditioner, dechlorinator? If so, that is causing the issue.

The range is 7-9". You may need to be on the lower end of the range.
