Reef Octopus PS 1000 INT

I have no experience with Reef Octopus and the RO PS 1000INT is being recommended by my LFS-they are excellent-but I am concerned because I believe the model is new and I can't find any reviews out there.
I am setting up a 120 mixed reef in the near future and wish to know if Coralvue has run this skimmer, or can you direct me to some reviews, or perhaps I should wait a bit?
Sorry for the vagueness of my questions.
Thanks, Craig.

They are really good skimmers. As with all skimmers, the heart of the skimmer is the pump. If you do a search on the Bubble Blaster pumps, you will find plenty of positive reviews on the pump. It is the workhorse of our lineup and it is a pump that has been around for many years with little change. It also carries a full 2-year warranty so that should tell you that it not a disposable pump at all.

We have run all skimmers we distribute at some point or another. AT the end of the day, everybody that works here started as a hobbyists and we have tanks at home and in our offices.

Thank you for your prompt reply! One more question: Will I have to raise the skimmer in my sump? It looks like the return is 6" inches or so.
Thanks again.

The skimmer should be installed in 5.5"-5.75" of water. That is the optimal water depth for the skimmer to work at peak performance.
