Lately I have a problem with it leaking water around the collection cup. I have a hob 1000. I tried to get the o ring gasket to seal and water continues to dribble out around the sides. Went to work and came home and there was a serious puddle on the floor.
I also have a problem removing the collection cup. I afraid that crack or break the unit.
I've watched the video. Great video but no help to me.
I need a fix for the leakage problem asap. I cannot continue to lose water on a daily basis. Not to mention my floors.
Please help.

Usually that happens when the skimmer is not primed correctly and there are still air bubbles inside the plumbing that may be creating a partial obstacle and causing the water to backup. Try to prime the skimmer again and make sure that you remove the silencer when you prime the skimmer.

The other thing you can do is to rotate the return elbow 45 degrees to lower the water level inside the skimmer. The return elbow is the elbow located on the second compartment where the water goes into and makes its way back to the main tank. This elbow is usually installed pointing straight up but it can be rotated either side.

The return elbow is already at 45 degrees. I've had the skimmer running for at 3 weeks and I've unplugged it and restarted it so there can't be air in the lines. I've lost 5 gallons of water in the last 4 or 5 days. This is a major problem. Not only is my floor being flooded i have to keep replacing the water.
Also the collection cup fits extremely tight and I'm afraid the I will break the skimmer taking it out or putting it in. Any solutions for this problem
