Hi there,

Just got the DBNW150 Skimmer and have some questions.

My sump is very tall 18"

1) I need to use a taller pipe on the water output from the skimmer, how will this affect the flow?
a) the pipe will be approximately 16" tall connecting to the gate valve.
2) I might need to cut down the siphon tube, will this work?

I will be using a 385GPH Sicca feed pump, but it has a flow adjustment.

I am guessing I will lose efficiency with the higher return pipe?

Thanks!

Shaun,

Raising the water outflow valve will also raise the water inside the skimmer and cause it to overflow more often. It is better to raise the skimmer if possible.

Cutting the syphon tube would be fine as long as the top of the syphon tube is always above the water level.
