We have seen that happen many times when people pull from the cable to make adjustments on the position of the pump.

It is not from pulling, it is cheaply made plastic wire insulation breaking down in the tank after three+ years

I undestand. Maxspect has made great improvements over the years on the pumps. If you purchase a replacement motor block, most likely it is not the same material as it was back then. You can purchase a replacement motor block here... https://www.coralvue.com/maxspect-gyre-motor-block
