I have 2 of the FX280 pumps running on each end of my 300 gallon saltwater tank. Had them both running over a year and they are starting to make noises. I'm changing out all the bushings, rotors and cages with the spare pairs that came with the pumps. I realize there are two different A & B rotors with the blades going different directions. But aren't the cages interchangeable? My cages don't look like the ones in the manual. My cages do not have bushings on the end; but rather molded ends that do not come off. Are the cages not identical? If not, how do I tell the cages apart and which cages goes with which rotor? Thanks!

Cages are also labeled as A and B so you need to make sure that cage and propeller A are on the left and cage and propeller B are on the right. Otherwise, the pump will not work.

Where are the A/B labels located on the cages? Where are they on the rotors?

On the cages they are at the base. If you follow the rib that separates the input from the output windows, you will find the letter right at the base. On the propellers, the label is on the outer side.
