Have you taken the skimmer apart and given it a good cleaning? Is the noise coming from the silencer or the pump itself?

I have not taken it apart, I have taken pieces off and cleaned them but not totally taken it apart. It is really the gurgling that is so loud. I have the sponges around them that is supposed to quiet it down but have removed them. It is in the office so it just needs to be a bit quieter!!! The motor does hum as well but that might be tolerable if all the rest of it were quieter!

I suggest taking the skimmer apart and giving it a good cleaning. That may help with the sound. The skimmer is 2 years old so it is out of warranty already.

Okay, on with my snorkel gear and see if we can turn this around!!! I did really love it for about the first year and a half and now it is a struggle. Others that we had we endlessly had floods. thank you for your help!
