I recently purchased the Classic 150 In Sump Skimmer. I have a question about the pump assembly. When the pump is attached to the skimmer, it sits about 1/2 inch off the floor of the sump. This appears to me to be a problem. Wouldn't the weight of the pump stress the union and acrylic input assembly? Eventually wouldn't that cause it to break?
Is there a recommended setup for the pump to reduce this stress point?

The pump will safety suspend off of the skimmer body. Just be sure not to install the pump to the skimmer until it is rested in your sump. The only way the intake tube will break is if it is hit.
