Hello. I have a Reef Octopus NWB-110 skimmer and just purchased the Bubble Blaster HY-1000 pump. Was wondering if you can tell me the proper water level and if I need to adjust the output pipe?

I found one reference to 5.5" water level and reducing the output length by 1" but need to verify if this is correct.

Thank you for your help.

You will need to start with the skimmer at 7"-8" water depth. Then you will need to tune your gate valve according to your tank needs.

Here is a quick read on how to tune your skimmer... http://www.coralvue.com/support/317511-How-do-you-dial-in-a-protein-skimmer

Carlos,

I thought the Bubble Blaster pump required a lower water level than the stock OTP. 7 - 8" is what you run the NWB-110 skimmer at out of the box. Am I missing something?

Thanks,

No, both pumps are about the same size. The bubble blaster is a stronger pump so it needs more water to be able to pull in water without pulling air from the water surface.
