I had a question about the length of the overflow corrugated tubing, and silicon return pump tubing that came with my Elos System MIDI 36gal. Since my overflow is in the rear right of the display tank, it's almost a straight drop down to plastic lid of the sump, and the provided tubings are extremely long in comparison (see IMG_0166.jpg for a picture of the sump).
Initially I had them looped or bunched up, but they would touch the sump walls (and thus transmit a bit of the vibration noise), and took up quite a bit of space. It was difficult for me to work within the sump, or adjust other things such as the skimmer.
I am contemplating cutting the tubing to a shorter length so that there is less excess material, but first wanted to ask what is the manufacturer's intended setup? If I use the screw in PVC fittings for the gray corrugated overflow tubing, the tube loops and bunches all over and stresses/flexes the plastic lid.
