I purchased a new skimmer close to two years ago. It is the 150. The pump has quit, and I am looking at a bubble blaster you offer to replace with. I read online that two people had posted that it was just too strong for the 150? Is this true, or can I use the bubble blaster? Will it match right up to my Octopus 150?
Thank you.

David,

Are you referring to the NWB-150 that came with an OTP 2000 pump? It would be the same body is the following one but again, with an OTP 2000 pump.

I have the OCT-NWB150 came with Hailea OTP 2000 pump. I would like to upgrade to:
Reef Octopus Bubble Blaster HY-2000 Pump. What worried me is I seen some reviews on it, and it said the BB was to much pump for the 150, however I see that coralvue recommends that pump for the 150. Also, I am told it will not just match up to my 150 without extra parts? Please let me know. Thank you.

David,

If people are running the skimmer too deep, then while it may be fine running on an OTP pump, the Bubble Blaster is more powerful and will cause the skimmer to overflow. That skimmer should be in only 6-8" of water, and if you are running it with a bubble blaster, then it should be closer to 6".

To purchase the pump, follow this link:

It will require you specify the adapter in order to purchase the pump. Make sure you choose the correct adapter for your skimmer.

Hope this helps.
