I think that the pump burned up. It sent out black smoke with a burning smell. I have cleaned it up good and it does kind off work out side of water, but I am not sure of using it in my tank any more. It is the OPT-3000 pump what is the replacement for that pump?

Ok, you got the older model. The output adapter of that OTP is not slip, I am pretty sure it is threaded. It would not make sense to have it as a slip. If that was the case, you would need to glue the pump and that would make it impossible to remove the pump to clean and service - so I am pretty sure that is threaded.

Here is the pump you would need...

No it is a slip fitting for the output. I have cleaned and serviced the pump many times over the years. It does fit tight so no glue is required.

Cal,

I did a little searching and the pump you have is an old OTP pump that came with the slip output glued to the body. We no longer make that pump and have not made it in over 5 years. I have the guys at the warehouse searching to find if they have any of those pumps somewhere and will let you know if have any.

Best,

Carlos

Karl,

Unfortunately they were not able to find any of the old pumps. Sorry about that.

You would have to modify the skimmer. We do not have anything that is slip fitting anymore.
