To remove the shaft from your Gyre please do the following:

Remove the cages, propellers and propeller bushings until you are left with just the motor block and the shaft. Hold the motor block in your hand with the shaft vertical and the side with the driver door (located on the side with the red bushings or the "I" in the IceCap logo) facing upwards. Gently tap the opposite end of the shaft on a tabletop or other hard surface until you see the bushing begin to move. Once the bushing comes out enough to be able to grab it; take a pair of regular pliers and grab around the bushing and pull it out of the motor block. You will then be able to remove the shaft and the motor block bushings.
